At the Jožef Stefan Institute, Ljubljana, Slovenia, we are seeking a candidate for doctoral study and employment in the field of research on advanced materials for electronics. The work will focus on the investigation of materials with interesting electrical, magnetic, thermal, and mechanical properties, as well as on studying their behavior at the micro- and nanoscale. An important part of the research will involve the use of atomic force microscopy (AFM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), which enable the analysis of various properties of bulk and nanostructured materials.

The candidate will be involved in the work of the atomic microscopy laboratory and in research on modern materials for future electronic applications. The work will be carried out under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Hana Uršič Nemevšek (Head of the Electronic Ceramics Department) at the Jožef Stefan Institute and in collaboration with domestic and international research partners.

Previous experience is not required, as training in research work and the use of equipment will be provided at the institute. We expect a completed or nearly completed master's degree in a natural science or engineering field and an interest in experimental research work.

We offer:

  • the opportunity for doctoral study and employment,
  • work in a modern research environment,
  • training in the use of advanced research equipment,
  • involvement in international research collaboration,
  • a start date by agreement.
