The task of the Department of Chemistry and Physics is to plan and organize the implementation of the teaching process and scientific-research work within the domain of the Department. Thanks to the research infrastructure, various research activities are carried out in several research areas at the Department.
The most dominant research fields of the Department are:
- research in the field of analytical chemistry,
- research in the field of environmental analytical chemistry and environmental protection,
- research in the field of physical chemistry and electrochemistry,
- research in the field of material testing.
The Department of Chemistry and Physics cooperates with economic, governmental, and other organizations in the field of providing intellectual services, mainly in the above-mentioned areas of research in the form of:
- Preparation and participation in professional projects (preparation of studies, expertise, and other project documentation).
- Making and participating in scientific research projects.
- Services of research laboratories (chemical analyses, various material tests, etc.)
- Consulting services.
When it comes to professional projects, the Department has the experience and the most participation in the development of projects in the field of environmental protection, and in scientific research projects the dominant fields of research are analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, and electrochemistry and testing of material properties.
