Since 1996, the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences has been organizing an international scientific and professional symposium entitled Non-metallic Inorganic Materials – Production – Processing – Application. The first five symposiums were reviews of scientific and professional activities from all areas of non-metallic inorganic materials, which brought together scientists and experts from faculties, institutes, and businesses whose main areas of activity are the production and processing of non-metallic mineral raw materials as well as their application.
In 2006, the International Scientific-Research Symposium was transformed into a symposium entitled Metallic and Non-metallic Materials – Production – Properties – Application”, expanding its topic to the field of metal materials and the protection of the working and environment and sustainable development. As part of the scientific research symposium, a plenary session (introductory and invited papers for global topics), oral and poster presentations of papers on the topics of the meeting and, if necessary, working meetings are organized. The symposium is held every two years.
The Fifteenth Symposium with International Participation “Metallic and Non-metallic Materials – Production, Properties, Application” (MNM 2025) was organized in collaboration with Yeditepe University from Istanbul and UCTEA – Chamber of Metallurgical and Materials Engineers of Turkey. The thematic focus of the Symposium encompassed metallic and non-metallic materials, chemistry, occupational and environmental protection, renewable energy sources, environmental engineering, and sustainable development.
This year’s Symposium was marked by the participation of a large number of international researchers, further highlighting its international character and opening new opportunities for future collaboration. A total of 53 scientific and professional papers were presented, involving over 200 authors from France, Turkey, Iran, Romania, Serbia, Croatia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. A special contribution to the organization was made by our partners from Yeditepe University in Istanbul and the Chamber of Metallurgical and Materials Engineers of Turkey (UCTEA), who enabled the participation of a significant number of authors from Turkey. The organizers also extend their gratitude to the University of Poitiers (France) and the ITNMS Institute from Belgrade for the high-quality plenary presentations by their representatives, which significantly enhanced the scientific level of the event.
