In the Metallurgical Engineering study program, students are trained in scientific fields, Metallurgy of Iron and Steel, Foundry, Metallurgy of Non-ferrous Metals and Plastic Processing of Metals, which are profiled through the selection of appropriate elective subjects, i.e. specialist subjects in the field of metallurgy (iron, steel, non-ferrous metals , foundry), industrial furnaces and fuels, plastic processing and heat treatment of metals.
The curriculum for these professional subjects is adjusted so that future engineers acquire the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge in these areas. The theoretical part and computational exercises of the study program are performed at the Faculty, and the laboratory exercises, in addition to being performed in the laboratories of the Faculty, are also partially performed at the “Kemal Kapetanović” Institute. Third- and fourth-year students visit the industrial plants of companies in the surrounding area as part of the vocational course program.
