Prof. Sc.D. Aida /Mahmutović/ Imamović graduated from the Faculty of Metallurgy in Zenica, University of Sarajevo in 1992. At the same faculty, she continued her postgraduate studies, majoring in steel metallurgy, while she completed professional training and the practical part of her master’s thesis at the IEHK Institute of the RWTH University of Aachen, Germany, under the mentorship of Univ. Prof. Dr.-Ing. W. Black. The master’s thesis was created as a result of research within an industrial project and was defended in June 2001 at the Faculty of Metallurgy in Zenica.
She obtained the academic degree of Doctor of Technical Sciences at the Faculty of Georesources and Materials of the RWTH University of Aachen under the mentorship of Univ. Prof. Dr.-Ing. D. Senk in 2004 with the defense of his doctoral thesis with an excellent grade under the original title “Einfluß von Begleitelementen auf die Heißrissanfälligkeit des Stahls S355 bei unterschiedchen Erstarrungs- und Abkühlungsbedingungen” (translation “Influence of accompanying elements on the susceptibility of S355 steel to the formation of cracks in hot state at different solidification and cooling conditions”).
During her many-year stay in Germany, Prof. Sc.D. Aida Imamović actively worked on several scientific research projects, as well as in the teaching process at the IEHK Institute as an assistant and mentor in various fields (“Steel Metallurgy”, “Secondary Metallurgy”, Master’s study “Metallurgical Engineering”, etc. ).
Sc.D. Aida Imamović was certified as a Doctor of Technical Sciences at the Faculty of Metallurgy and Materials of the University of Zenica in 2005, and was employed at the same Faculty at the Department of Iron and Steel. At this faculty, she served as vice dean for teaching and student affairs for two years. She pays special attention to the education and professional development of students abroad, and she successfully participated in the mobility of a large number of students and professors, and in the implementation of the “DAAD – BiH Sur-Place” project, and was the organizer and leader of professional student excursions in Germany and Austria.
