Prof. Sc.D. Hasan Avdušinović was born on January 1, 1973. He obtained the title of metallurgical engineer on April 26, 2000. After finishing his undergraduate studies in the same year, he enrolled in postgraduate studies at the Department of Metal Materials majoring in Modern Metal Materials and Their Application in Technology. In the summer of 2002, he stayed at the Institute of Iron and Steel in Aachen (IEHK), Germany, and as part of the visit, basic preparations were made for the preparation of his master’s thesis. He defended his master’s thesis entitled Morphology and distribution of sulfide inclusions in low-alloy steel on May 27, 2003. In the period January-June 2007, he stayed as a guest/researcher at Iowa State University (Ames, USA), where he did the basic preparations for the preparation of his doctoral dissertation. On March 19, 2010, he defended his dissertation entitled Determining the optimal production parameters of castings from austempered ductile iron for different wall thicknesses. He spent the academic year 2011/2012 as a visiting professor/researcher at Iowa State University (Ames Iowa USA) within the Fulbright Scholarship program. In addition to study stays, he participated in a large number of scientific meetings in the field of metallurgy and materials in the country and the surrounding area. In May 2021, he was elected full-time professor at the University of Zenica for the scientific field Technical Sciences, field Metallurgy, branch Process metallurgy.
The entire scientific interest, as well as the teaching engagement, is related to metal casting technology, molding materials, thermal processing of iron-based castings, the connection between the chemical composition of castings-design-production technology-properties.
Since April 2023, he has been serving as Vice-Rector of the University of Zenica for international cooperation and quality assurance.
