Prof. Sc.D Almaida Gigović-Gekić earned her degree in metal materials engineering in 2001 at the Faculty of Metallurgy and Materials, University of Sarajevo. The topic of the thesis was “Porous metallic materials with open and closed pores”. He defended his master’s thesis in 2007 at the Faculty of Metallurgy and Materials, University of Zenica on the topic “Contribution to the study of the influence of non-metallic inclusions on the quality of steel 100Cr6 produced in a vacuum and open induction electric furnace”. She received the title of Doctor of Technical Sciences after successfully defending her doctoral dissertation in 2010 on the topic “Quantification of the influence of alpha-gamma forming elements on mechanical properties and the appearance of delta ferrite in Nitronic 60 austenitic stainless steel”. The doctoral thesis was defended at the Faculty of Metallurgy and Materials, University of Zenica. Since 2022, he has held the title of full professor for the scientific field of Technical Sciences, the Materials branch, the field of Metal Materials and the field of Material Characterization.
The areas of scientific and research work are: metallic materials, composite and amorphous metallic materials, thermal treatment of metallic materials, powder metallurgy and characterization of metallic materials.
